Creating Your First Bottle
A step-by-step guide
When you create a new bottle in your vault, you are recording a Bottle record, but a Bottle needs to hold an Expression, and an Expression needs to come from a Distiller. To help you with this, we have split up the bottle creation process into three steps. The process starts when you click the "Add a New Bottle" button on your My Vault screen (this will be the default screen you will be taken to once you have logged in.
Distiller Info
The first thing you will do is to select or create a Distiller. Take a look at your bottle. On the label, the distiller's name will be pretty obvious. You can start typing the Distiller's name into the search box. The application will use "fuzzy search" to find a list of distillers whose name is the same, or near to, the letters you entered.

If the application finds a match it will be displayed below the search bar.

In the image above, I have entered "glen" and got a ton of matches, as you can imagine, then typed and extra letter "d" and the list shrunk immediately.
MyWhiskyVault currently has close to 300 distilleries registered. For most common whiskies, you will get a match. If you don't, then you will have to create a new Distiller record and a new Expression record for your Bottle. Details of how to create a Distiller are available here.
