Virtual Bottles

Overview

Virtual Bottles allow users to record tastings for whiskies that aren't in their collection. This feature enables whisky enthusiasts to document their tasting experiences without cluttering their main vault with bottles they don't own.

Key Features

1. Lightweight Bottle Representation

• Minimal Required Fields:

  • Distiller Name

  • Expression Name

• Optional Fields:

  • Bottler Name

  • Age Statement

  • ABV (Alcohol By Volume)

2. Integration with Tastings

• Each Virtual Bottle is directly tied to a single Tasting

• Virtual Bottles don't appear in your main vault

• Simplified interface for quick tasting entry

User Guide

Creating a Tasting with a Virtual Bottle

1. Navigate to "New Tasting" from the main menu

2. Select "Taste a Whisky Not in My Collection"

3. Fill in the required distiller and expression information

4. Add any optional details that might help identify the whisky

5. Complete the tasting notes as you normally would

6. Save your tasting

Managing Virtual Bottle Tastings

• Viewing: All tastings, including those with virtual bottles, appear in your Tasting Journal

• Editing: Update the virtual bottle details when editing the tasting

• Deleting: Removing a tasting will also remove its associated virtual bottle
